DAY 1 : JAYAPURA – WAMENA (L,D)

Arrive at Jayapura’s Sentani Airport and take a short flight to Wamena. Transfer to The Baliem Valley Resort. After lunch, visiting the local market in Sinakma Village near Wamena.

DAY 2:  HIKING IN THE SOUTHERN BALIEM VALLEY – KURULU MUMMY (B,L,D)

Easy hiking in the southern Baliem Valley and encounter with the Dani people

Today we visit the southern Baliem Valley. We start our easy hike in the village of Sogogmo and we follow the mighty Baliem River. We cross suspension bridges, walk through Dani settlements, meet the locals and see them working in their terraced fields and wild sugar cane groves. For lunch, we enjoy a picnic with a magnificent view over the river and the narrow valley. We walk back on the other side of the river, passing more Dani fields and settlements, before we meet our driver again. After hiking, we will visiting Kurulu Village, where you can admire the ancient mummy of the famous Dugum Clan and also some typical Dani Villages nearby. 

In the late afternoon we are back at the Resort.

DAY 3 : PIG FESTIVAL (B,L,D)

Today is a very special day! After breakfast, we get ready to participate in a pig feast which takes place in a traditional Dani village. Many decorated people from the Dani tribe take part in the festival. Such pig feasts with hot stones and earth pits are probably the most interesting part of a trip to New Guinea. It is difficult to describe what have to see and experience it yourself.  exactly is so unique about these festivals because there is just too much happening at once. You For lunch, there is a picnic but you can also eat the food from the traditional earth pit if you like. The freshly cooked pork and sweet potatoes are delicious! In the late afternoon, we return to the Resort.

DAY 4 : WAMENA – JAYAPURA (B,L,D)

At the appropriate time, we fly to Jayapura.

From the airport, we take you to the local restaurant near Sentani Lake.

After lunch, we will ride the small motorized wooden boat to cross the lake of Sentani. There are 2 villages we can visit, first is the village of Ayapo, on the mainland across the lake, about 20 minutes to the south, then to Asei village, about 10 minutes on the center of the lake There are about 90 families living on the stilt house on this village, most of them are fishermen, and in spare time, they make handicrafts. In Ayapo Small Island, there are about 32 families, also fishermen as well as making handicrafts. Lunch at the restaurant on the lake side while enjoying the peaceful surrounding area. Then proceed to Cendrawasih Museum and Hamadi art market.

DAY 05 : JAYAPURA – BALI (B)

Transfer to airport for flight back to Bali.

5 DAYS & 4 NIGHTS

DAY 1 : SORONG – WASAI – MANSUAR ISLAND (L,D)

Upon arrival at Domine Eduard Osok Airport in Sorong, you will be met and transferred to ferry port to board the public ferry. 

While waiting we usually take the guest to Swiss Bell Hotel for breakfast. The breakfast is an optional at around Rp 200,000 per person.

The ferry will depart from Sorong at 9 AM and arrive at Raja Ampat’s capital Waisai at 11 AM.  

Soon you will be met and transferred by another 40-minute speedboat ride to Raja Ampat Dive Lodge at Mansuar Island.

Best that you arrive in Sorong by morning flight around 6:30 AM.

 

DAY 2 : KABUI BAY (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we start the full day tour to Kabui Bay to see beautiful  karst islands and the famous rock  of Batu Pensil. If it is during low tide,

we can also visit the exotic sand done of Pasir Timbul either before or after Kabui.  Packed lunch will be provided during the trip.

 

DAY 3 : PIAYNEMO (B,L,D)

Once you are done with your breakfast, we will depart to visit Piaynemo Geo-Site. Get ready for a walk-up through 325 wooden steps to reach top of the hill

from where you will be fed by a mind-blowing view over turquoise lagoon and all the surrounding karst islands. As we descend the hill, we will do little hike through

rocky hill to see the famous Telaga Bintang, the star-shaped lagoon located closely adjacent to the Piaynemo viewpoint hill. Wearing comfortable trekking shoes is

 well recommended. On the way back, we will stopover at the island village of Arborek, a great place to interact with local villager s and see some local handicraft-making.

Packed lunch will be provided during the trip.

 

DAY 4 : FREE AT LEISURE (B, L, D)

Free at leisure at the resort.

 

DAY 5 : MANSUAR ISLAND – WAISAI – SORONG (B)

After breakfast we will leave Raja Ampat Dive Lodge by speedboat to Waisai to catch the 9 AM ferry and bring you back to Sorong. 

Upon arrival in Sorong, our staff will meet you and transfer you to airport.

Best if you take the afternoon flight around 3:00 pm.
