The island of Bali is a photographic delight with two volcanoes, reaching 3,014 meters high. There are lush tropical forests, pristine crater lakes, fast flowing rivers and deep ravines, terraced rice fields, and fertile fruit and vegetable plantations. The white sand beaches in the South and the black volcanic sand beaches in other parts of the island are enjoyed by visitors and locals alike.
Bali is renowned for its traditions & customs which are influenced by the religion. With a completely different lifestyle from the rest of Indonesia, the Balinese have managed to preserve their culture despite the overwhelming foreign influence brought by the increasing number of tourists. Their artistic abilities are known worldwide and include dance, painting, sculpture, leather, metal working and music. Dancing and music are highly stylized forms of art and the classical dance drama is based on ancient Hindu epics and local folklore.
Balinese and Bahasa Indonesia are the most widely spoken languages in Bali, but because of the international tourism English is also very common.
A wide range of adrenaline pumping activities covering scuba diving, white water rafting, mountain hiking, mountain cycling, Bali land cruiser, ATV rides and many others are available for your pleasure.
The traveler has a wide array of options in Bali where many restaurants cater to tourists. Of course, rice plays a main role in the traditional diet. Whole-roasted pig is common, while skewered meats (satay) are plentiful. International cuisine is readily available in Bali, especially around Denpasar, Sanur, and Kuta. Chinese food is quiet popular, especially in Kuta where seafood restaurants offer the day's freshest catch, allowing you to select your own live lobster or fish.
